Thanks Ragavan.I'll correct them.
Hope you are listening to the songs which I put daily.
If you like similar songs, let me know so that we can both improve our "carnatic music vocabulary".

Dear sudharsan
Thanks for your suggestion. It is very difficult for me to type the whole song in Thamizh. That is why I keep pointing to internet resources.
The main point of starting this blog is to
(1) keep a list of my favourite carnatic songs
(2) by listening to just one song a day, other bloggers might get to know about good carnatic songs.
Bloggers like Jeeva have pointed me to some similar songs which I have never heard about before. This will increase all our Kelvi Gnanam.
:-)

I have no idea how many people visit my blog and actually attempt to hear the songs I post.I think Manjula Rajaraman,Jayanthi Shankar,Jeeva Venkatraman and G.Ragavan are regular readers. :-)
Some songs liked by me might not be liked by others.
If I hear the same song sung by different artists, I like one rendition but do not like the other artist's rendition. But just hearing lot of songs increases our kelvi gnanam and if it is excellently rendered, it is pure musical bliss!!! :-)

Hello! You left me out in the readers list! That said, really when we hear to some authentic carnatic music (Sastrokthamana sangeetham) its a bliss! indeed. I once went to tanjore periya kovil. There one group was singing this "Bo sambho - siva sambho swayambo" song ! What a time it was! What to say, I had tears rolling in my eyes. You might have heard that song. Its really a nice song.

Manjula madam
Thanks for your encouraging words.Bombay Jayashree has sung the first 2 stanzas of Adi Shankara's astalakshmi strotram in raga Revati("Sumanasa Vandita"). It is also present in musicindiaonline.com
